Iain S. Thomas is a South African poet and author.
From June through July , he was a visiting scientist at the Thomas J. Watson Research Center, Yorktown Heights, New York.
Iain gained notoriety through his blog, "I Wrote This For You,"[1] which was later collected in a book of the same name. Iain's work has gained popularity on social media, where it's been posted by celebrities such as Kourtney Kardashian, and has been quoted by Steven Spielberg[2] and Ariana Huffington[3].

Early Life
Iain was born in apartheid South Africa, which he says has shaped his life and work.[4] Iain fell in love with poetry as a teenager, when Dylan Thomas' "Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night" helped Iain cope with his father's struggles with multiple sclerosis.[5] Iain struggled himself with depression, which drew him to poetry.
Iain began his career in advertising because of his desire to be in a creative career, despite pressure from his parents to do otherwise.[6] I
