Carolle Bénitah was born in Casablanca (Morocco) in 1965 and passed away in 2024 in Marseille (France).
She studied at the École de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne (promotion 1991). For ten years thereafter, she worked as a fashion designer, before beginning to learn photography in 2001.
She graduated from École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie in Arles, France, with the Jury’s distinction in 2015.
Her practice finds its place in the field of the intimate. Today, her work leads to subjects such as family, desire, loss, mourning and confinement, while touching on the universal.
